Today's class explores and exposes some educational website and its importance to the education field particularly the teaching profession. This website promotes the idea of sharing among teachers and for self improvement such as http://eduwebtv.com/, http://cikgu.net/, There are many websites related to teaching and learning but the problem will arises when the content do not suit our curriculum so for Malaysian teachers we should more focus on our own websites. However, we can exploit ideas from other countries to suit our own context regarding culture and background. For examples, cikgu.net, edu.gov and many more helps to develop an interactive platforms between teachers to share their ideas.
To sum up, let us admit, todays is a era to use everybody's knowledge for the good of everybody.

27/07/08 REFLECTION - INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN PRINCIPLES

Technology in today’s environment are based on the understanding of models and theories. One of them, that we learned today is the theory of "instructional design principles" which play a role as a factor in teaching and learning process in the classroom.

One of the models taught was the ASSURE MODEL which focusing more on the process in the classroom. The model guide us the importance to develop the suitable teaching aids using technology in the classroom.
The ADDIE MODEL is more about developmental stages from planning (analyzing) stage to the evaluation stage. It gives clear guide what we should consider in each stage.
To sum up, let us admit that these models being introduce to serve their purpose. So, be creative and critical on how to exploit our knowlegde about these models to the maximum.

I love those tutorials. They help me a lot in doing my video. It;s like video editing for dummies as it provides details and steps by steps instructions which are very helpful for us. However it takes quite some time to understand the tutorial as I am not familiar with the software. I believed to be advanced in technology we have to dare to fail by try and error session. I feel very happy to have this chance to improve myself.

15/07/08 REFLECTION

Morning, today's lesson was informative and thank you to my lecturer to give a brief and ample exlpanation regarding the assignment. It's become clear to me with the objectives, strategies on how to manipulate the video produced to become an interactive teaching aids. Besides that, we learn about storyboard. Actually, I never done a storyboard before and it quite confusing. However, life is a challenge and I have to do my own homework to get a clear picture on how to do it. Through the process of video making, I am exposed to a few software and application such as windows movie maker, photoshop and etc. I really amazed with what those application can do, thus give me an idea how this knowlegde is important for me as a teacher in a new era of technology.

THE REFLECTION

At first, Techno first class really surprised me. However, the word PLEASE contribute its good first impression. Techno class in other word try to personalise our learning environment with our 100% comitment through engagement with he technology.

So, our reaction is being well managed by the prof. So, I agree that one of the today's teaching and learning method is personalize learning using technolgy as information access or even we as teacher can exploit as an effective teaching tools as it provides interactive learning oppurtunities. For example, a lot of ideas, visual aids and techniques are available, so these resources is and element for a teacher to achieve one of thier characteristic which is 'resourceful'.

Through this type of learning, teacher and students are work hand in hand to achieve thee lesson objectives. Personally, I think to take student and preferences in balance is the true way of teaching and learning as it consider both needs.

To conclude, let us admit that technology is important regardless who you are, and listen deeply in your heart why this technology is being created and gradually evolves? The answer is simple; we are human. We evolve so as technology. If you are human, think deeply!

ASSIGNMENT 1 - TECHNO FOR A DAY! MAKE THE TEACHER GIVE AWAY!

1. Honestly speaking, I’m still new in so called ICT era. But, to think how my students will be learning using this latest technology, I have no doubt today’s generation are well-updated. Deep in mind, i think technology will be enlightened our students' learning styles. During my time, learning was mostly taking place in classroom setting, but today armed with techno logy, setting for learning can be ignored because students now can access information anytime, anywhere they want. So, it will become more flexible in terms of time, evoke creativity in expressing ideas, and in other way provide freedom to fulfill their curiosity in knowledge culture. However, we as teacher also called second parents to these students should provide proper guidance to educate them the true meaning of learning. With the borderless information and exposure, some misuse may occur. Here, teacher should play a role to keep them in track on how to use technology for good purposes. At last, they will take responsibility on what they want to know, and give it back to society in appropriate manner.

2. How teacher will be learning????? Personally, "teacher" in other words means "teach her/him self". We have to update ourselves in technology as one of the crucial element to this new era where people said, "techno is our food, without techno, we can't live". So, this survivor series really require us to become 'techno teacher'. However, take this as a gift!! Some may claim these as misery but not for me, I think this is an exciting exploration and I can foresee my future as a teacher that able to provide teaching resources in more interactive ways and enrich my lesson with attractive visual aids that I can easily download and exploit them for classroom purposes. So my friends, do you still think these subject is a burden, I suggest have fun and learn to make a maximum use of this technology. Evidently, regardless who you are, whether a teacher or a student, if you are living in this 21st century without having this knowledge, you can called yourself a loser or a caveman, nowadays even a monk know how to use this technology. This evolution is real, so be prepared, it’s not as hard as we think because technology serves its purpose to simplify things. LIVE TECHNO!!!!!!
